My life is not extraordinary, it is not amazingly good, bad or great either

My life is just the way its supposed to be

Imperfect at times

And sometimes-remarkably perfect

These are the moments that have driven and shaped my life.

These are my extraordinary moments

Life happens when your mother has to leave your side at 2 years old

Life happens when your grandmother gives up her life to take care of you

Life happens when your father decides not to be part of your life

 

Life happens when you climb a tree, and fall having the worse accident of your life

Life happens when your grandmother heals your wounds

 

Life happens when you listen, see, touch, taste and feel a war

Life happens when you run for your life, wishing and hoping everything will be okay 

Life happens when your father gives money when all you really wanted was a hug

 

Life happens when you have a first crush

Life happens when that crush leaves town and you never get to tell him how you felt

 

Life happens when you dance your heart out during every school function

Life happens when you wish your mom could see you

 

Life happens when you do your first communion against your will

Life happens when you begin to rebelling against what you are “supposed” to do

 

Life happens when your heart breaks and have to leave your grandmother’s side for the first time in 11 years

Life happens when you get on a plane for the first time

Life happens when you have to sleep on your own for the very first time

Life happens when shock hits you and all you want to do is go back

 

Life happens when you feel out of place and don’t belong

Life happens when you go from having a family of 1 to a house of 6

Life happens when things are not the way you thought they would be

Life happens when you cannot connect with your mother

 

Life happens when you walk into a new school

Life happens when you have no idea what everyone around you is saying

Life happens when kids make fun of you

 

Life happens when you learn how to survive

Life happens when things get better

When you get new friends

When you begin to fit in

When you fall in love for the first time

 

Life happens when you meet a great teacher that cares

Life happens when that teacher pushes you to be more

 

Life happens when you fight with your mother

And say things you feel out loud

 

Life happens you go back home for the first time

Life happens when you realize home is no longer home

 

Life happens when you graduate from high school

Life happens when you intentionally apply to school far from home

Life happens when you are dropped off at your dorm for the very first time

Life happens when you feel free for the first time in your life

 

Life happens when you begin to find yourself

Life happens when you connect with God because you want to not because you have to

Life happens when you find your spirituality

 

Life happens when you have open conversations with friends

Life happens when you blush while friends talk about sex

Life happens you start talking about it!

 

Life happens when you are the first to graduate from college in your family

Life happens when you feel like a woman for the first time

Life happens when your heart beats so fast right before that first kiss

Life happens when religion and culture keeps from your first true love

Life happens when you realize love is not always enough

 

Life happens when you get your first real job

In a small town you hate

 

Life happens when things begin to change

When you feel better

When you begin to heal

 

Life happens when you meet “the man of your life” at your favorite coffee shop

Life happens when you realize you can fall in love again

Life happens when you have to fall out of love

Life happens when you learn how to let go

 

Life happens when your grandmother becomes someone you don’t know

Life happens when you realize she will never be the same

Life happens when you hug her and tell her “I love you.”

Life happens when you tell your mother you love her for the first time

 

Life happens your siblings become parents

Life happens fall in love with them and learn a different type of love

Life happens when your sister’s loss breaks her heart

And you cannot do anything about it

 

Life happens when you go on the trip of your life time

Find what you have been looking for

Life happens when in that moment you realize how lucky you really are

 

Life happens when you find your passion

Life happens when your passion begins to shape you

Life happens when you meet angels that help you heal

Life happens when wonderful people begin to touch your life

Life happens when you feel loved

Life happens when you see new places

Meet new people

Enjoy the outside world

 

Life happens when you begin making your dreams real

Life happens when you sit in a coffee shop on your birthday

Loving every moment

Life happens when you are exactly where you are supposed to be

Life happens when you realize you wouldn’t have any other way
